Depitox 500
Depitox 500 Selective Weed Killer 5L - Full Description Depitox 500 is a selective herbicide for the control of many tough broad-leaved weeds (including ragwort) in amenity and agricultural grassland. It is most effective on docks, thistles, nettles, rush and ragwort. It is widely used as a mixer product as it is more effective this way. We would recommend mixing with another selective herbicide in order to increase its spectrum. Keep livestock out of treated area until poisonous weeds such as ragwort have died and become unpalatable. It is also advised to keep livestock out for 1-2 weeks prior to application to allow lush growth. To gain better results, mix in with a herbicide enhancer called Activate-G.

Thrust Selective Weed Killer 5L
Thrust Selective Weed Killer 5L Highly effective on ragwort. Also offers control on broad-leaved weeds such as thistle, dock, plantain, soft rush and buttercups. Ideal for paddocks and pasture as it is safe for grass. Great value for money. Full Description Activate-G has been specially formulated to combine with the active ingredient of herbicides to improve their uptake into the plant. This is done in two ways, firstly by stopping the pesticide 'locking up' when used in areas of hard water and secondly by helping the chemical absorb into the plant using its unique 'uptake system'. Using Activate-G stops any loss of active ingredient as it is drawn into the plant rather than sitting on the surface and evaporating or running off. Mixing Activate-G with herbicides such as glyphosate and grassland products has significantly enhanced the speed and effectiveness of the kill. Typically, adding in this product increased the activity of herbicides by 7-10 days and helped reduce the time taken for the herbicide to dry on the leaf by several hours. This can be particularly helpful in times of poor weather conditions. In short, adding Activate-G enhances the effect of herbicides by around 25%. Using Activate-G can be very useful when trying to countrol tough, waxy plants, or when trying to penetrate large, dense foliage. For smaller areas, consider using the smaller pack of Activate-G 1L. Our Recommendation Always read the product label before use. Save time and money and mix in Blue Dye to ensure no areas are missed or overdosed. For great weed killing results mix in with a Glyphosate-based weedkiller such as Gallup 360. Always wear protective clothing, such as Chemical Resistant Gloves, when handling Activate-G. Diamond Horse Tail Weed Killer
Diamond Horse Tail Weed Killer 1L Faster acting than glyphosate alone. Controls tough weeds such as nettle, ragwort, horsetail and many other broad-leaved weeds which are difficult to kill with straight glyphosate. Grassland destruction recommendation giving improved and quicker control of weeds such as docks. Fast action- one application for target weeds. Extended weed spectrum to manage tough to control weeds like thistles, oilseed rape and grasses. Use less glyphosate per hectare- you can reduce by half the amount of glyphosate per hectare with the same result. Safe formulation for trees in orchards. Full Description Diamond is a brand new product exclusive to Ransley Pro Grow which offers excellent results on many tough annual and perennial weeds including horsetail. It is a soluble concentrate containing 160g/L 2,4-D + 240g/L glyphosate. As well as treating weeds such as bindweed and ragwort, Diamond is one of the few products on the market that will successfully control horsetail. Previous products containing glufosinate-ammonium used to control this difficult weed are no longer permitted for sale in the U.K making Diamond the go to product following its launch in spring 2019. Often seen in spring and summer, horsetail (otherwise known as marestail) is an extremely invasive perennial weed with deep roots. If left untreated horsetail will spread at a fast rate and crowd flower beds, borders, lawns and patios. Diamond is approved for use on amenity vegetation, orchards, hard surfaces (railway ballast), and green cover not being used for crop production. After application the 2,4 - D will break down leaf tissue which enables the glyphosate to translocate around the plant far quicker and deeper. It will deliver total weed control to both grasses and broad-leaved weeds, controlling them swiftly and penetrating deeper into the root system than glyphosate alone. For increased results, mix with Activate-g 1L to penetrate waxy & hairy leaves. If you need advice or would like to hear how Diamond could fit into your herbicide programmes, please give our BASIS trained technical team a call on 01522 246491. This product is also available in a bigger pack size called Diamond 5L. Our Recommendation Save time and money and mix with Blue Dye to ensure no areas are missed or overdosed. 6-5-10+Fe Nutrigrow Moss Top 20kg
6-5-10+Fe Nutrigrow Moss Top 20kg Full Description MossTop is a quality fertiliser which is ideal for areas suffering from moss. Although not classed as a moss killer, MossTop can significantly reduce the moss population due to its high level of iron (Fe). MossTop also contains a balanced amount of nutrients which are ideal for autumn/early spring; this is also the best time to treat moss. MossTop is a mini granule compound fertiliser which means it is ideal for use on paddocks, lawns, sports turf or amenity areas. It's slow-release formulation will gradually release over a 6 week period. MossTop on its own is unlikely to deliver enough nutrients for the grass for the rapid spring growth, so consider topping up with a product which has a higher nitrogen content such as 20-10-10 or 9-7-7 fertiliser. Understanding Fertiliser Analysis: Under the metric system the unit of measurement is a kg. Recommendations are given in kg/ha. A fertiliser with the analysis 6:5:10:6Fe contains: 6% nitrogen 5% phosphate 10% potassium 6% iron(Fe). In a 20kg bag: 6% of the 20kg is nitrogen i.e. 1.5kg N. 5% of the 20kg is phosphate i.e. 1.25kg P. 10% of the 20kg is potassium i.e. 2.5kg K. 6% of the 20kg is iron i.e 1.5kg Fe. Our Recommendation Always read the product label before use. If you are looking for a liquid iron product, look at Ferro-gem. For applying fertiliser over large areas look at our Pro Fertiliser Spreader. If you require a higher Iron content look at Nutrigrow 4-0-4+9fe. Selective or Non-Selective?
Get this choice right and the rest is straightforward.
Selective — Lawn Safe
Targets broad-leaved weeds while leaving established grass untouched. Ideal for dandelions, daisies, clover, plantain and other lawn weeds. Apply spring to early autumn when weeds are growing strongly and the lawn is not under drought stress.
Non-Selective — Total Clearance
Kills everything it touches, including grass. Use it on hard surfaces, gravel, fence lines and for clearing ground completely — never on an established lawn. Wait 2–3 weeks before reseeding or turfing a treated area.
Getting the Best Results in 3 Steps
Timing and technique do most of the work.
Identify the Weed & Area
Check whether the weeds are in the lawn or on a path, drive or gravel. That decides whether you need a selective or a non-selective product.
Spray in the Right Conditions
Apply on a calm, dry day when no rain is due for at least six hours, and only when the weeds are actively growing.
Let It Work
Weeds die back over 7–14 days. Wait 2–3 weeks before overseeding or turfing the treated area, and keep children and pets off until dry.
